Passport: Skills for Life is a school programme that promotes the emotional well-being of children 9 to 11 years old. Through fun interactive activities, it develops children’s coping abilities and social skills in order to equip them with the tools to deal with difficulties in everyday situations.
Delivered in class by the teacher, each of the 17 sessions, 55 minutes each, begins with a new comic book adventure for Olya and Milo, two children who journey into a magical universe with a friendly dragon.
The entertaining comic strips illustrate the themes of the sessions, such as friendship, bullying, stress, changes and loss. Through a variety of activities, including group discussions, role-playing and a giant board game, children identify, practise and evaluate different coping strategies with the goal of adopting new and helpful ways of coping.
Passport: Skills for Life has a positive impact on children and the classroom atmosphere. It is also easy to deliver and is greatly appreciated by children, parents and teachers.
